Audiology
The Audiology Services Department at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center provides a variety of services to assess the auditory and vestibular system of patients of all ages. Staffed by a licensed clinical audiologist, this department has testing and rehabilitation services to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with hearing and balance disorders. Patients who use hearing aids are provided with an array of conventional, programmable, and digital hearing aid options to suit their personal preferences.

- Industrial and DOT post-screening evaluations

- Neurological screening for VIIIth Nerve Function
- Threshold testing for unreliable respondents
- Videonystagmography (sometimes called ENG for Electroynystagmography)
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) assessment and treatment
- Hearing Aid Dispensing and Follow-up
- Hearing Aid Repair
- Hearing Aid Batteries
- Assistive Listening Devices
- Custom Noise Plugs and Musician Plugs
- Educational Programs Regarding Hearing Loss
Pediatric Services
- Diagnostic Hearing Evaluations
- Comprehensive Audiometry (ages 4 and up)
- Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (ages 6 to 36 months)
- Play Audiometry (ages 3 to 6 years)
- Tympanometry (middle ear function test) (all ages)
- Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE's) (birth and up)
- New-born hearing screening referral follow-up
- Uncooperative patient assessment
- Auditory Brainstem Response Threshold Testing (birth to 6 months)
- New-born hearing screening referral follow-up
- Uncooperative patient assessment
- Custom Swim Plugs
- Hearing Aid Fitting and Follow-up
