Child Friendly Radiology Admitting

Welcome to the Radiology Department at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. Here, you will find information regarding the services we provide so you and your little one will know what to expect before, during, and after your visit with us.

We want your child to feel as comfortable as possible. Feel free to bring a blanket or stuffed animal from home during your visit.

Many of the radiology rooms are kept very cool to ensure the medical equipment does not overheat during or after use. Because of this, the Radiology Department is equipped with warm blankets that are available for use.

The department also has access to portable DVD players, and patients are encouraged to bring a favorite DVD for small bowel, CT, and ultrasound visits.

You can also bring a favorite CD to listen to during a MRI exam.

Please pay special attention to the preparations for each procedure. If you have any questions, please call the Radiology Department at (309) 665-4780.

All test results will be sent to the ordering physician within 24 to 48 hours.

Check-In

Armband for Child Friendly

All patients should check-in at Admitting (Entrance A) where they will be registered prior to their procedure.

Following registration, a volunteer from the medical center will direct you to the Radiology Department where the patient will be given an armband.

Here, you may wait in our child-friendly waiting room until the radiology technologist comes to get you for your procedure.
